Um ein vertieftes Verstndnis zu ermglichen, wird die aktuelle Frderlandschaft der EU skizziert und der ELERFonds in die Gemeinsame Agrarpolitik eingeordnet. Mglichkeiten zur Finanzierung von Waldnaturschutzprojekten auerhalb des ELERFonds werden aufgezeigt. Letzterer wird jedoch als von der EU ausersehene Hauptfinanzierungsquelle fr Umwelt und Naturschutzmanahmen vertiefend betrachtet und das Mehrebenensystem der Frderung (europaweit national regional) erlutert. Auf jeder der Ebenen erfolgt eine Einfhrung in die in Deutschland bestehenden Regelwerke. Besonderes Augenmerk liegt dabei auf Schwerpunkt 2 des ELER: Verbesserung von Umwelt und Landschaft. Die in diesem Schwerpunkt frderfhigen Manahmen werden zusammengefasst und die Bedingungen der Frderung dargelegt sowie die Umsetzung in den deutschen Bundeslndern aufgezeigt. Fr einen der Frdertitel, Waldumweltmanahmen, werden die Details der Frderung herausgearbeitet. Weitere fr den Waldnaturschutz relevante Frdertitel werden auf allen Ebenen angesprochen. Die Entwicklungsprogramme der Bundeslnder MecklenburgVorpommern und Niedersachsen/Bremen werden kurz zusammengefasst. Ausfhrlich ist die Darstellung der Frdermglichkeiten in Schwerpunkt 2 und besonders der Waldumweltmanahmen. Wieder werden alternative ELERFrdertitel betrachtet. In diesen Lndern werden weitergehend die relevanten Landesfrderrichtlinien analysiert, die die politischen Programme in fr Antragsteller gltige Regelungen umsetzen. Die Details zur Beantragung von Frdermitteln fr Waldumweltmanahmen werden eruiert und im Sinne eines Handlungsleitfadens fr potenzielle Antragsteller aufbereitet. Das Potenzial der NABU
