Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Filmwissenschaft, Note: 2, Universitt Siegen, Veranstaltung: Historischer Film/Biopics, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Als ich mich daran machte, diese Arbeit ber den Film Frida von der Regisseurin Julie Taymor aus dem Jahr 2002 zu schreiben, stellte ich fest, dass es gar nicht so einfach sein wrde, das eigentliche Thema dieser Arbeit (die Filmanalyse des KnstlerBiopics) im Auge zu behalten. Dies liegt wohl daran, dass sich dieses Filmgenre mit Menschen beschftigt, die durch ihre knstlerische Ausdruckskraft und bisweilen exzentrische Persnlichkeit ihre Umgebung in einen unwiderstehlichen Bann ziehen. Die Versuchung ist dann gro, sich auf die Person und ihre Kunst zu konzentrieren. Schlielich ist der Film in diesen Fllen vorrangig ein Transportmittel. Er transportiert die Knstlerin und ihr Werk aus der Vergangenheit, der Erinnerung, der Perzeption des Biographen und aus der Galerie in die Gegenwart, auf die Leinwand, ins Bewusstsein des Zuschauers. Hier stellt sich unweigerlich die Frage, ob der Film der Knstlerin gerecht werden kann. Und wenn ja, ist er dann selber als Kunstwerk zu betrachten?
