Der niederlndische Remonstrantenpastor, Maler und Schriftsteller Ferdinand Pont prsentiert im vorliegenden Band eine Geschichte Friedrichstadts, an der Westkste SchleswigHolsteins zwischen Eider und Treene gelegen. 1621 wurde die Stadt von Herzog Friedrich III. von SchleswigHolsteinGottorf mit dem Ziel gegrndet, eine neue Handelsmetropole zu errichten. Da der Herzog umfassende Religionsfreiheit und umfangreiche wirtschaftliche Privilegien gewhrte, zog es zunchst v. a. niederlndische Remonstranten, die in ihrer Heimat unter den spanischen Ketzerverfolgungen zu leiden hatten, nach Friedrichstadt. Pont beschreibt die Entwicklungen von der Stadtgrndung bis zum Ende des SpanischNiederlndischen Krieges 1648. Sorgfltig berarbeiteter Nachdruck der Originalausgabe aus dem Jahr 1913.
