I bought this book for my husband, who is a Civil War enthusiast. He loves it! The memoirs are insightful and really paint a picture of the time. Glad I found it!

Well-researched but not engaging
I thought the memoirs were well-researched, but I struggled to stay engaged. The writing style just didn't pull me in. It’s a great reference for serious historians, but I was hoping for something more gripping.

A fascinating read about the Civil War
I picked up 'From Manassas to Appomattox' after hearing great things about it. The memoirs really bring the Civil War to life with vivid details and personal accounts. It's a bit lengthy, but totally worth it if you love history!

Good insights but a bit dry
The book offers some solid perspectives on the Civil War, especially the battles mentioned. However, I found some sections a little tough to get through. If you're really into Civil War history, you'll probably enjoy it, though!

A must-have for Civil War buffs
As a history teacher, this book is a fantastic resource. The detailed accounts provide great context for my lessons. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in Civil War history!
