The aim of this thesis is to find out if there are trade relationship agreement between the case countries, or not and if there are, what kind was it? What kinds of benefit are there? And how the relationship can be developed? The findings in this research shows that there are potential trade and development opportunity among these countries, considering the large number of inhabitants in terms of market share in the west African region and the continent as a whole. In the empirical part emphasis have been placed on the fact that both countries, (Ghana and Nigeria) are bigger in population consider to Finland, still both are backward in economic development and the case study is not aimed at finding the negative aspects, but to find the way forward to further strengthening trade relations ties with the country and learn from its remarkable success. The problems found were not as much anticipated, but could only be attributed to human error which could be address with the solutions suggested in this thesis.
