Se estudi el efecto del fuego sobre la diversidad florstica, la productividad primaria neta area, la fertilidad y la diversidad del banco de semillas germinable en un ecosistema de pastizal serrano en la Sierra de Comechingones, Crdoba, Argentina. Para esto se compar un sitio de vegetacin natural sin alterar con otros dos perturbados con distinto rgimen de fuego. En el sitio con mayor intensidad de la perturbacin aumentaron los porcentajes de abundancia de las especies herbceas con forma de vida rastrera, por la remocin del mantillo depositado en el suelo. La fisonoma del sistema no cambio por la variacin en la composicin florstica. El disturbio produjo cambios significativos en la dinmica de la biomasa como as tambin en la productividad primaria neta area del sistema reduciendo la proporcin de biomasa de monocotiledneas y de mantillo, se aument la biomasa de dicotiledneas, mientras la productividad primaria area disminuy. La diversidad de los bancos de semillas germinables fue mayor en los sitios con fuego. Hubo diferencias entre las especies vegetales presentes en el banco germinable y en la vegetacin establecida dentro de cada sitio estudiado.
