Once again, the book provides a clear writing style, an appealing uncluttered layout, clear exposition, timetested exercise sets that feature a variety of applications, and problems that are appropriate and consistent in level of difficulty. This book is clearly sets itself apart from the competitionit is mathematically sound, prepares students for further mathematics courses, and offers excellent problem sets. This new edition has been improved and all of the chapters now include numerous technology inserts with specific keystrokes for the TI83 Plus and the TI86 graphing calculators, which is very helpful to students who are working with a calculator for the first time.

This algebra textbook has some great chapters, but I found that some topics could use more examples for clarity. It’s not a bad resource, though, and it covers the basics pretty well. Just don’t expect everything to be super detailed.

Honestly, I expected more from this algebra book. The content is okay, but I found it a bit dry and hard to stay focused on. It gets the job done, but I wish it had more engaging problems or real-world applications. Just okay for me.

I used the CengageNow version of this book for my online algebra class and it worked nicely! The interactive features made studying easier. I could go back to specific sections and practice until I got it right, which was a lifesaver during exams.
