The authors are proud sponsors of the 2020 SAGE Keith Roberts Teaching Innovations Award-enabling graduate students and early career faculty to attend the annual ASA pre-conference teaching and learning workshop. Fundamentals of Research in Criminology and Criminal Justice introduces students to the multifaceted subject of research methods and shows them why research is important in the field. This brief version of Ronet D. Bachman and Russell K. Schutt’s best-selling The Practice of Research in Criminology and Criminal Justice simplifies complex concepts with real-world research examples found in everyday experiences in the criminology and criminal justice professions. The thoroughly revised Fifth Edition retains its celebrated strengths while breaking new ground with coverage of recently popular research methods and contemporary research findings.

This book has been a key part of my research for my thesis on criminal justice. It covers a lot of ground in terms of methodology. The used condition was fine; it just had a few highlights which didn’t bother me at all!

Not what I hoped for
I bought this used book expecting a comprehensive guide, but it fell short in some areas. Certain chapters were confusing, and the used condition meant some wear and tear. I hoped for better quality for the price.

Great resource for criminology students
I picked up this used book for my criminology class and it has been super helpful. The insights into research methods are presented clearly, and it's full of relevant examples. The condition was better than I expected too!

Useful but some pages were marked
This book is a solid introduction to research in criminology, but I found a few pages marked up with notes from the previous owner. Still, it was worth it for the price, especially as a used copy. Just wish it had come in a cleaner condition!
