Kleines Dorf mit groer Vergangenheit: 1918 legte der im Pferderennsport engagierte Berliner UnionKlub in Mansbach den Grundstein fr sein UnionGestt. Das nach modernsten Erkenntnissen angelegte Vollblutgestt brachte dem Ort in der hessischen Vorderrhn weltweite Anerkennung. Das Gestt wurde 1933 von der Wehrmacht bernommen zum Remonteamt. Zweimal im Jahr beurteilte die Kavallerieinspektion die bis zu 800 Pferde und wies sie ihrem jeweiligen Kriegseinsatz zu. Nach einer spektakulren Flucht der Remonteamtswrter mit den Pferden gen Osten wurde das Remonteamt 1945 von den Amerikanern eingenommen. Bald trafen Pferdetrecks ein, unter anderem edle Lipizzaner aus dem Gestt Hostau, bevor sie zum Teil in die Spanische Hofreitschule in Wien berfhrt wurden. Nach dem Krieg folgte die Grndung eines Fohlenaufzuchthofes in der Tradition des Berliner UnionGestts sowie der Grndung der innovativen Kurhessischen Fachschule fr Pferdezucht und haltung". Der Pferdehof ArhnA" und zahlreiche private Pferdebesitzer fhren heute die Pferdetradition in Mansbach fort.
