La presente investigacin tuvo como finalidad determinar la efectividad del gel de Aloe vera con extractos de propleos como terapia complementaria para la periodontitis crnica. Aplicado en dos grupos de pacientes : un 1er grupo, que reciba la terapia convencional basada en tartrectomia, raspados y alisados radiculares junto con la aplicacin del gel placebo, y un 2do grupo, que reciba una terapia complementaria, el gel de Aloe vera con extracto de propleos junto con la terapia periodontal convencional. Se evalu las principales caractersticas clnicas de los tejidos periodontales en ambos grupos, antes, durante y despus de los tratamientos. Al comparar los resultados de ambos grupos se encontr que el grupo experimental tuvo una mayor recuperacin que el control. Lo que permiti concluir que, el gel de Aloe vera con extracto de propleos junto con la terapia convencional proporciona grandes beneficios en la recuperacin de la salud del periodonto, permitiendo que los tejidos periodontales se recuperen con mayor rapidez.
