Da Web Services auf offenen XMLbasierten Standards beruhen, eignen sie sich sowohl zur Integration von firmeninternen Systemen (EAI) als auch zur Entwicklung von firmenbergreifenden Applikationen (B2B). JCows, der Generischer Web Service Client, wurde zum Testen von Web Services entwickelt. JCows ist im Wesentlichen eine generische ClientApplikation, mit welcher ein Benutzer aufgrund der Schnittstellenbeschreibung (WSDL) die Operationen eines beliebigen Web Service dynamisch aufrufen kann. Fr die Eingabe der Parameter und die Anzeige der Resultate steht eine grafische Benutzeroberflche zur Verfgung.
