Kardiovaskulre Erkrankungen stellen in den Industrienationen die dominierende Todesursache dar. Aufgrund ihrer enormen medizinischen und gesundheitspolitischen Bedeutung werden seit Anfang der neunziger Jahre unter anderem die genetischen Ursachen kardiovaskulrer Erkrankungen gezielt untersucht. Diese Arbeit gibt eine bersicht ber wichtige Studiendesigns und Methoden der genetischen Epidemiologie zur Identifizierung der genetischen Ursachen komplexer kardiovaskulrer Phnotypen. Auf der einen Seite werden klassische Verfahren wie Segregations und Kopplungsanalysen vorgestellt. Hierbei wird sich insbesondere mit der Umsetzung der Verfahren auf MehrgenerationenStammbume befasst. Auf der anderen Seite gibt die Arbeit eine bersicht ber neuere Verfahren wie genetischepidemiologische MetaAnalysen und genomweite Assoziationsstudien. Unter anderem werden Verfahren zur Bestimmung des zugrunde liegenden genetischen Modells dargestellt. Darber hinaus werden die Vor und Nachteile der einzelnen Verfahren diskutiert und miteinander verglichen.
