El estudio de la distribucin espacial de las enfermedades en el mbito urbano constituye una preocupacin en los pases centrales y es un tema de tratamiento incipiente en la Argentina. Las ciudades de tamao intermedio en el pas han experimentado el mayor crecimiento de la poblacin desde mediados del siglo veinte y, al mismo tiempo, ante el desfasaje de inversiones necesarias por parte de las administraciones municipales, son las que manifiestan las mayores problemticas ambientales y de saneamiento. Este trabajo plantea en una propuesta de regionalizacin sociohabitacional de la ciudad de Lujn, analiza espacialmente la distribucin de enfermedades asistidas en una escala intraurbana y explora el grado de correlacin existente entre ambas. Asimismo, desde un punto de vista metodolgico, su concrecin propone un procedimiento estndar de factible aplicacin en estudios comparativos de otras ciudades de tamao intermedio de la Argentina. Lujn, entonces, es abordada desde una doble perspectiva: como objeto de estudio, a travs de una problemtica poblacional, y como modelo social para la aplicacin de procedimientos de escasa tradicin en el pas.
