El presente libro est dirigido a estudiantes de las carreras de matemticas y a todo aquel lector interesado en abordar de manera rigurosa los temas bsicos de la geometra. Uno de los objetivos de este libro es que el lector aprenda los temas elementales de geometra mediante un orden lgico y riguroso, de manera que, en la medida de lo posible, no haya cabida de ambigedades, adems de que desarrolle el hbito de leer y escribir de manera clara y con una actitud crtica sobre cualquier tema de matemticas que sea de su inters. Otro de los objetivos es que sirva como fuente de consulta sobre teoremas y frmulas geomtricas, de manera que el lector con curiosidad no solamente encuentre un resultado sino tambin la demostracin del mismo. Los pocos teoremas que no se demuestren no ser por causa de que sea de un alto grado de dificultad sino porque consideramos que el lector puede ser capaz de demostrarlo por s mismo, ya sea por ser un caso particular o consecuencia inmediata de otro teorema o por que la metodologa que pudiera ser utilizada para la demostracin ya haya sido empleada anteriormente. Lo anterior pretende hacer del presente un libro completo y autocontenido.
