Gegenstand dieser Hausarbeit ist es, herauszustellen, welche Bedeutung der Historizitt im Zusammenhang der Filmhandlung und ihrer mglichen Botschaft zukommt. Mit welcher Ambition siedelten die Filmemacher ihre Geschichte in dieser Epoche der amerikanischen Vergangenheit an, und wie trgt die Auswahl der prsentierten historischen Ereignisse und Personen tatschlich zur Wirkung des Films auf den Zuschauer bei? Ausgangspunkt dieser Untersuchung ist die These, dass es dem Film um eine kritische Bewertung jener geschichtlichen Prozesse geht, er darber hinaus aber in mindestens ebenso starkem, wenn nicht grerem Ma einen kulturkritischen Kommentar zur USamerikanischen Gesellschaft der 1960er Jahre abgibt.
