Der berblick ber die physiologischen, sozialisationstheoretischen und psycholinguistischen Erklrungsanstze zeigt, dass letzterer geschlechtsspezifische Unterschiede in den Schulleistungen mit einer mangelnden Bercksichtigung geschlechtsspezifischer Interessen besonders plausibel erklren kann. Durch kognitive Lerntheorien und Erkenntnisse der Interessenforschung erhlt diese Annahme ferner ein theoretisches Fundament, dessen Aspekte auch in Rechtschreibmodellen bercksichtigt sind. Im Anschluss werden empirische Forschungsergebnisse zum psycholinguistischen Erklrungsansatz vorgestellt, womit sich die Arbeit vornehmlich auf die Untersuchungen von Richter (1996a) bezieht, die sich vor allem mit Unterschieden in der Rechtschreibleistung bei Grundschulkindern beschftigen. Die daraus erwachsenden didaktischen Folgerungen dienen nicht nur einer Aufhebung der Benachteiligung der Jungen im Schriftsprachbereich, sondern zielen auf eine Chancengleichheit aller SchlerInnen in allen Schulfchern.
