Jedoch erdachten sie auch schreckliche, bengstigende Szenarien, die etwa mit der Intention entworfen wurden auf Missstnde der Gesellschaft hinzuweisen, oder um einen Umbruch der momentanen Lebensbedingungen zu erzielen. Die Anfnge der utopischen Literatur reichen bis in die griechische Mythologie zurck. Der erste utopische Idealstaat ist jedoch bei Platon in der Antike zu finden. Der Staat', etwa 375 v. Chr. verfasst, ist wohl eine der frhesten politischphilosophischen Utopien. Er liefert das Bild einer Gesellschaft, in der die gebildeten Philosophen als Knige regieren sollen, was durch verschiedene Gleichnisse, unter anderem Platons berhmtes Hhlengleichnis, verdeutlicht wird. Das entscheidene Merkmal, welches wohl allen Utopie gemeinsam ist, scheint die Sehnsucht nach einer besseren Welt zu sein und die Hoffnung, sie eines Tages realisieren zu knnen. Ich mchte in der vorliegenden Hausarbeit die utopische Literatur, am Beispiel von Aldous' Huxleys Roman Brave New World', im Hinblick auf ihre kulturkritischen Inhalte untersuchen. Im ersten Teil werde ich, nach einer kurzen Definition des Begriffs, genauer auf die literarische Gattung der Utopie und ihre geschichtliche Entwicklung eingehen, einige berhmte Beispiele nher erlutern und mich schlielich auf den Bereich der negativen Utopie konzentrieren. Im Hauptteil der Arbeit beschftige ich mich mit Huxleys bekannter negativer Utopie Brave New World', die bis heute kaum etwas von ihrer Faszination und Aktualitt eingebt hat.
