En la presente Memoria de Tesis Doctoral se estudia la implantacin de los Sistemas de Gestin Ambiental segn los modelos internacionales EMAS e ISO 14001 en un acuario. Dada la escasa implantacin de los Sistemas de Gestin Ambiental en este tipo de centros, se ha considerado oportuno y necesario estudiar la viabilidad tcnica y operativa de la implantacin del Reglamento (CE) n 761/2001 del Parlamento Europeo y del Consejo, de 19 de marzo de 2001, por el que se permite que las organizaciones se adhieran con carcter voluntario a un sistema comunitario de gestin y auditora medioambientales (EMAS) en acuarios. Para el desarrollo de la experiencia se ha procedido a desarrollar el Sistema de Gestin Ambiental EMAS en un acuario pblico, el Aquarium Finisterrae o Casa de los Peces de A Corua.
