Das Gemlde steht dabei unter dem speziellen Fokus des so genannten SwaggerPortrait, auf welches im Verlauf der Arbeit immer wieder Bezug genommen wird. Eine erste Annherung an das Sujet erfolgt ber die Definition des Begriffes SwaggerPortrait. Nachdem denkbare Verstndnisfragen beantwortet sind, folgt die genauere Untersuchung des Gemldes. Diese detaillierte Analyse beginnt mit der Historiographie des Bildes, indem Bezug genommen wird auf die Entstehung, die Auftraggeber, Handhabung als auch den Verbleib des Gemldes. Danach setzt die Bildanalyse ein, die mit einer groben Bildbeschreibung beginnt und von ikonographischen Erluterungen gefolgt wird. Da die Ikonographie des untersuchten Portraits umfangreich ist, nimmt sie den grten Teil dieser Arbeit ein, bildet jedoch zugleich die Grundlage fr viele weitere Interpretationsanstze, welche im Anschluss vorgestellt und kritisch betrachtet werden. Nachdem unterschiedliche Interpretationsanstze der Literatur errtert wurden, folgt eine Analyse unabhngig von bisherigen Anstzen. Diese ist in zwei eigenstndige Themenbereiche, die politische und christliche Interpretation, aufgeteilt. Den Abschluss bildet die Zusammenfassung, welche nicht nur eine komprimierte Synthese dieser Arbeit darstellt, sondern auch einen Verweis auf noch unerschlossene Bearbeitungsgebiete in Bezug auf das Portrait bietet und einen Zusammenhang zu aktuellen Geschehnissen aufweist.
