Ob nun dieses ber nationale Grenzen hinweg stattfindendes Agieren im heutigen Ausma als Internationalisierung oder aber als Globalisierung zu bezeichnen ist, wird von vielen Autoren kontrovers diskutiert. Selbst bei der historischen Dimension der Internationalen Handelsbeziehungen, also ab welchem Zeitpunkt man von Internationalisierung sprechen kann, ist umstritten. Nach KUTSCHKER beginnt der internationalen Leistungsverbund bereits im antiken Rom, nach BATHELT erst mit dem Einsetzen der Industrialisierung. Neue Qualitten in den internationalen Verflechtungen und deren vernderte wirtschaftlichgesellschaftliche Grundlagen haben dazu gefhrt, dass der Grad der Durchdringung und Integration von Produktions und Marktstrukturen auf globaler Ebene seit den 70er und 80er Jahren dieses Jahrhunderts eine vorher nicht gekannte Tiefe und Intensitt erreicht hat und man deshalb von Globalisierung als einer neuen Qualitt und fortgeschrittenen Stufe der Internationalisierung sprechen sollte. Zur Unterscheidung zwischen Internationalisierung und Globalisierung ist nach GORDON die Form der Koordination grenzberschreitender konomischer Aktivitten entscheidend und damit fr mich eine nachvollziehbare und fr meine Arbeit sinnvolle Begriffsabgrenzung. Bei der Internationalisierung erfolgt eine Koordinierung des Marktes ber den Preis, wobei grenzberschreitende Austauschvorgnge, vor allem der grenzberschreitende Handel mit Waren und Dienstleistungen, zwischen unabhngigen Wirtschaftsakteuren stattfinden.
