El objetivo de este libro es reflexionar en torno al proceso de globalizacin, a partir del anlisis de dos escenarios tericos y polticos que subyacen a sus postulados, para lo cual se presentan los antecedentes histricos y los fundamentos tericos de la globalizacin neoliberal, as como el anlisis crtico de dicho proceso. Asimismo, las reflexiones se centran en el rastreo de las huellas de la globalizacin y de la fbrica global en el mundo laboral, sobre todo la que se refiere al impacto de la nueva divisin internacional del trabajo. En este contexto se analiza la imbricacin entre fbrica global y ciudad global, particularizando en la ciudad de Nueva York, donde se estudia tanto el desarrollo histrico de la migracin hacia dicha ciudad como su constitucin como ciudad global, as como el papel de los migrantes mexicanos en la misma, enfatizando en los procesos de subjetivacin y subjetividad de dichos sujetos.
