A celebration of evolving taste, told through the stories behind 250 objects sold by the worlds leading auction houseFounded in London in 1766, Christies is one of the most important auction houses in the world. During its history, Christies has sold masterpieces by artists such as Picasso, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, and Vincent van Gogh, often at recordbreaking prices; and, away from the world of art, the personal possessions of such wellknown figures as Napoleon Bonaparte, Marilyn Monroe, Yves Saint Laurent, and Princess Diana. From furniture to works of fine and decorative art, vintage cars to clothing and jewellery, the items sold at its auctions hold a mirror to our history and reflect our culture at large. Going Once vividly brings to life the shifts in aesthetic trends, fashion, and design over the centuries, showcasing 250 of the most outstanding objects in its storied history including some of the very first pieces sold at the auction house.

I enjoyed the event celebrating 250 years of collecting at Christie's, but I felt like some of the pieces didn’t live up to the hype. The atmosphere was nice though, and it was fascinating to see the different eras represented. Just wish a few more of the artworks were more impactful!

A Unique Journey Through Art
I attended this event at Christie's, and it was a real treat! The variety of pieces showcased 250 years of culture in such an engaging way. It felt like stepping into a living museum. Definitely a must-see for art lovers!

Disappointing Experience
I was really looking forward to this event, but honestly, it wasn’t what I expected. Some areas were overly crowded, making it hard to appreciate the art. Plus, the staff seemed overwhelmed. I left feeling a bit underwhelmed, not sure if I'd recommend it. 250 years is a big deal, but the execution just didn’t match that.
