Its time for bed but Dewberry Bears room is inhabited by strange creaturesa gorillafump, a rattlegato, and a jellyphant. As he tells Mama about each creature they try to decide the best way to get rid of them. Each time Mama reminds Dewberry of a prayer he is learning. Dewberry says the prayer each time, although not exactly the right words. Finally there is no other reason to stay up. Dewberry has cleaned his room while getting rid of all the creatures and Mama says it really is time to say his prayers and go to bed. Mama, he said. I can never remember the right words to my prayer. I know, said Mother Bear. It isnt important to know the exact words. The important thing is to remember to pray. A very special book for children three to five.
