Drei Regisseure insznieren Goethes Faust" "In seiner knappen, dennoch fundierten methodischen Vorbemerkung reflektiert der Verfasser insbesondere den Stellenwert des (klassischen) Dramas im Kontext seiner szenischen Realisierung. Im plausiblen Gegensatz zu dogmatisierenden Positionen mancher Fachkollegen, die das Drama generell aus der Theaterwissenschaft verbannen wollen, reklamiert die Arbeit den Text als virulenten Punkt gerade auch postdramatischer Inszenierungen und behauptet, dezidiert gegen den Strich, eine besondere Kompetenz der Theaterwissenschaft fr die Texte. Geschult durch ihre in vielen Inszenierungen ausgewiesene Offenheit entgehen wir demnach der philologischen Falle exegetischer Vereindeutigung. Das drckt sich vor allem auch mit Blick auf ihre rezeptionsgeschichtliche Verordnung aus. Wie der dramatische Text einer Auffhrung als sprachliche Vorlage dient, macht eine Auffhrung ebenso eine Aussage ber den gegenwrtigen Stand ihres Primrtextes. Entsprechend verfolgt die Studie einen doppelten Fokus. Drei im Titel schon genannte prominente "Faust"Inszenierungen vertreten drei Dekaden der szenischen StoffAneignung, hchst unterschiedliche zumal. Die Arbeit untersucht sie zugleich als exemplarische Beitrge zum Regietheater der Gegenwart und als Belege fr die heutige "Faust"Rezeption. Es ist dem Verf. hoch anzurechnen, dass er hierfr nicht eine starre Analyseschablone entwickelt, sondern flexibel auf die Besonderheiten der jeweiligen Inszenierung eingeht.
