Friedrich ist das Pseudonym von Professor Dr. Friedrich Schmidt. In Berlin geboren, aufgewachsen in sterreich, arbeitete Schmidt nach dem Studium beim ORF in Wien als Fernsehjournalist, setzte sich u. a. fr den Naturschutz ein. 1972 wurde er an die FH Kiel berufen. Ab 1987 hat er jahrelang Projekte im Norden Russlands koordiniert. Fr den Aufbau der Fakultt Sozialarbeit an der Pomoren Universitt Archangelsk wurde ihm das Ehrendoktorat verliehen. Angeregt durch sein Interesse an kologischen Fragen hat Schmidt sich im Roman "Grenze im Nebel" mit dem Kampf gegen die Zerstrung der Natur auseinandergesetzt. In "Notizen aus Russland" hat Schmidt Kurzgeschichten ber das Land der Extreme geschrieben (sucht Verlag), konnte auf persnliche Erfahrungen vor Ort zurckgreifen.
