Aborda el tipo de realidades sobre las cuales se reitera la censura. En respuesta, este estudio busca cuestionar las discursividades hegemnicas mostrando una visin alternativa del uso de los medios grficos (estncil, graffiti, xilografa, serigrafa, etc.) que son llevados a las calles como estrategias de comunicacin y como accin poltica. As, se explora el desarrollo de lo que aqu se nombra grfica poltica alterna mediante un acercamiento histrico y antropolgico a su uso en movimientos sociales. En esta manera el texto logra situar su presencia e importancia observada durante los eventos desarrollados en 2006 en Oaxaca, entidad del sur de Mxico, donde se evidenciaron desacuerdos sobre la legitimidad dada al sistema poltico local y nacional expresados con estos medios. En razn de ello, igualmente se analizan las dinmicas de poder que se encuentran arraigadas a la vida cotidiana, las que en este caso posibilitan emerger expresiones visuales opuestas a las hegemnicas y muestran al espacio pblico sacado de sus delimitaciones formales mediante su apropiacin clandestina e ilegal, cuestionndose as el mbito instituido de lo poltico.
