Insbesondere die marx'sche Fixierung auf Eigentumsverhltnisse und Produktionsmittel sowie die Gleichsetzung von Marktwirtschaft und Kapitalismus trifft nicht den Kern des Systems und seiner Fehlentwicklungen, wie Arbeitslosigkeit und Umweltverschmutung. Arbeit schafft Wert und Mehrarbeit schafft Mehrwert, soweit geht die bereinstimmung (die auch schon mit Ricardo erreicht wurde). Worin aber liegt die Marktmacht begrndet, die es erlaubt Mehrarbeit abzufordern um Mehrwert zu erwirtschaften, und wie entstehen daraus resultierend konjunkturelle und langfristige strukturelle knomische Krisen? Hier gehen marx'sche Kapitaltheorie und monetre Zirkulativittstheorie in grudstzlich verschiede Richtungen: Produktionsmittel per se sind nicht Kapital. Die Kapitaleigenschaft entsteht durch ihre Knappheit, und die wird dauerhaft erst durch das bestehende monetre System geschaffen und erhalten.
