Gus Grissom learned to fly airplanes during his stint in the army. He became a leading fighter pilot in the Korean War, was a test pilot, and would soon take his place in NASAs first generation of astronauts in its pioneering pursuit of space travel. The story of Apollo 1 is fascinating, and I liked some parts of the book. However, I felt like it could’ve gone deeper into Grissom's life outside of the mission. Still worth a read if you're into astronaut biographies!
