Compuesto en el verano de 1988, en su primera y ms prolongada estancia en la India, se basa en un mito de PapaNueva Guinea: Hainuwele, enamoradadel Seor de los bosques, habr de perderse a s misma para encontrarle, ofrecindose en sacrificio.Para Chantal Maillard, Hainuwele se construy a s misma, poema a poema, como lo hacen los personajes cuando se les deja abrirse camino en la escritura. Ella es mi lter ego ms querido. Vive en m aun cuando la pierdo. Para recuperarla, me basta con percibir el olor de los helechos en los bosques europeos o el sonido de las hojas secas, olfatear el viento del norte cuando llega a la costa cargado de olores....Los Otros poemas incluidos en el volumen son una seleccin de poesas pertenecientes a los libros escritos en esa dcada de regreso a Espaa: Poemas a mi muerte, Lgica borrosa y Conjuros. Del mismo modo que los dos ltimos libros reelaboraron fragmentos de los cuadernos Filosofa en los das crticos, los cuatro poemas que cierran esta obra hacen otro tanto con Diario de Benars. Se salvan as las fronteras de los gneros, y se destacan los enlaces invisibles, las referencias que invitan al lector a reconstruir la trama en la que un poema es apenas el fragmento de una hebra.
