It covers the basic genetic algorithm along with hybrid genetic algorithms and orderbased genetic algorithms. The second book is a collection of 13 academic articles on genetic algorithm applications. These articles cover a wide range of applications, including aircraft design, multiplefault diagnosis, and sequence scheduling, and appear to have no common theme. The introduction to genetic algorithms is accessible to anyone who has taken a few computer science courses; the academic articles assume that you are well versed in genetic algorithm theory.
