Knowing specific signs/symbols (detailed in this book) can make all the difference in your search. Concealment is a matter of secrecy and camouflaging by someone who needed to make sure he could retrieve it in years to come. These symbols represented either his own identification, the identity of the treasure, directions to the trove, distance, landmarks, time, characteristics of the land and maybe even superstitions involved with the trove. Symbols can appear on practically anything and anywhere. Sometimes maps, documents, stones, rocks, wood planks, shells, metal plates, trees, anywhere! Not all symbols can be identified, and sometimes they can be tricky. Those that seem to point in one direction can mean just the opposite.
