The first covers the initial case history, red flag issues and physical assessment or evaluation of the patient. Each chapter in the second section focuses upon an individual joint, functional unit or area, giving an outline of the anatomy; the pathological conditions, with the commonest ones tabled for easy differential diagnosis; the expected normal active and passive ranges of joint movement; and a selection of common orthopedic tests. The final section is an overview of symptoms with which a patient may present that could originate from neurological, rheumatological or systemic disease processes.
