Originally composed in Latin by Gilbertus Anglicus (Gilbert the Englishman), his Compendium of Medicine was a primary text of the medical revolution in thirteenthcentury Europe. Composed mainly of medicinal recipes, it offered advice on diagnosis, medicinal preparation, and prognosis.
