In this poignant autobiographical novel, a young man comes of age under truly extraordinary circumstances. Author Leonard F. Pax vibrantly brings to light a unique American subculture that will soon disappear with the revolution of antibiotics. It is a story of the resilience of the human spirit and serves as chilling reminder that another baffling illness may be just around the corner. Leonard F. Pax was born and raised in Celina, Ohio. After being diagnosed with tuberculosis at the age of twenty, he spent eighteen months as a patient in the District Sanatorium located in Lima, Ohio. After surviving his ordeal, Mr. Pax went on to enjoy a long career in the aeronautics industry. He currently lives in Mesa, Arizona.
