Diese oftmals unhaltbare Kritik wurzelt in der demonstrativen Unangepasstheit der Heavy MetalKultur sowohl im musikalischen wie im optischen Sinne. Fr Auenstehende beherbergt die Heavy MetalSzene hufig hssliche und dumme Schwachkpfe, die zu lautstarkem Lrm regelmig jugendgefhrdende Gelage abhalten. Der Heavy Metal ist ein Synonym fr Geschmacklosigkeit, Debilitt und dumpfe Aggression" (ROCCOR 1998, S.11). Da ich selbst seit Jahren Anhnger der Heavy MetalSzene bin, wurde ich schon des fteren mit gngigen Vorurteilen wie etwa Metal? Dann bist du Satanist, oder?" oder hnlichem konfrontiert. Trotz der gesellschaftlichen Ablehnung, die zumeist aus einer Unwissenheit ber die Musik und der dahinter stehenden Lebensphilosophie resultiert, strahlt der Heavy Metal, nicht nur als musikalisches Genre, sondern auch als Lebensstil nach wie vor eine ungebrochene Faszination auf seine Anhnger aus. Dieser Leidenschaft kann (und will) auch ich mich bis heute nicht entziehen. In dieser Arbeit werde ich mich dem Phnomen Heavy Metal insbesondere im Hinblick auf seine Wirkung gegenber Jugendlichen nhern. Die Jugendphase ist geprgt von einer Vielzahl von Umbrchen. Durch das Einsetzen der Pubertt sieht sich der Heranwachsende mit neuen krperlichen und psychischen Erfahrungen konfrontiert. Ein zentrales Thema in dieser Zeit ist der Aufbau einer eigenen Identitt.
