Diese Studie entstand als Dissertation am Lehrstuhl fr Volkswirtschaftstheo rie der Universitt Mnster. Sie befaBt sich mit dem wissenschaftlichen Wir ken, dem Hauptwerk und einer zentralen theoretischen Konzeption des deutschstmmigen Frhklassikers Heinrich von Storch. Das Hauptwerk er schien 1815, also zwei Jahre vor Ricardos "Principles". Storch galt, soweit er in dogmengeschichtlichen Lehrbchern berhaupt behandelt wird, als vorzgli cher Vermittler Smithscher und Sayscher Lehren. Peter Bernholz berraschte vor einigen Jahren mit dem Nachweis, daB Storch bereits das Wechselkurs berschieBen beobachtete und erklrte. Der Verfasser dieses Vorworts konnte zeigen, daB Storch als Mitautor der Theorie komparativer Kostenvor teile geIten kann und daB er mit seinem "GeheimniB eines vorteilhafteren Be triebes" Schumpetersche Innovationsvorsprnge und die Konzeption des TechnologielckenAuBenhandels vorwegnahm. Konrad Rentrup weist im Teil A auf zwei weitere Pionierleistungen Storchs hin: Erstens ordnet er den Entwicklungsstufen einer Volkswirtschaft typische Schuldner bzw. Glubigerpositionen zu, wie dies spter bei Rpke, Forst mann und Abb zu finden ist; zweitens interpretierte Storch wie kurz darauf Ricardo die Bodenrente konsequent als Differentialrente.
