Von ihren Lehrmeistern erhofften sich die Studenten Hilfen und Anregungen fr die Praxis. Nach solchen Hinweisen wie denn nun die neuen, revolutionren Konzepte zu verwirklichen seien, hungerten die Studentenbewegungen vor allem in Deutschland geradezu. Doch gerade damit konnten oder wollten die Altmeister der Kritischen Theorie, wie eben zum Beispiel Adorno, nicht dienen. Entscheidend beeinflusst haben die Studentenschaft vor allendingen die Bcher Marcuses Triebstruktur und Gesellschaft", Der Eindimensionale Mensch" sowie seine Schriften zur repressiven Toleranz. Vor dem Hintergrund des Bestrebens der Studenten einen neuen, freien Lebensstil zu etablieren und sich frei zu machen von alten und repressiven Einschrnkungen, strebten sie in der Folge auch nach einem berwinden berkommener Moralvorstellungen im Bezug auf das Sexuelle. Da wir uns im Rahmen des Seminars vornehmlich mit dieser Komponente der 60er, speziell der 68er, befassten, wird auf Triebstruktur und Gesellschaft" ein besonderes Augenmerk gelegt werden. Dieses Buch Marcuses, welches einen nicht geringen Einfluss auf die Studentenbewegung hatte, beschreibt in einem philosophischen Versuch der Neuinterpretation der Thesen Freuds, wie alle Kultur bis zum heutigen Tage ihrem Wesen nach unterdrckend ist, warum sie es ist und wie man womglich einen Ausweg aus dieser Unterdrckung zu finden vermag.
