Umso verstndlicher ist es, dass Unternehmen nach einem hoch qualifizierten Prfer verlangen. Diese Arbeit versucht, einen Einblick in alternative Messmethoden fr die Prfungsqualitt zu geben. Auf Grund der einschlgigen Literatur wird der Fokus auf den amerikanischen Kapitalmarkt gelegt. Kapitel 2 beschreibt das Bedrfnis nach einem Testat und mgliche Signalwirkungen. Die darauffolgenden Kapitel 3 und 4 geben verschiedenste Studien wieder, die zunchst das Klagerisiko als Mastab der Qualittsmessung und weiter das Ausma von Bilanzpolitik ber diskretionre Periodenabgrenzungen einsetzen. In Kapitel 5 werden Analysen des Skandals um Enron beleuchtet. Abschlieend wird in Kapitel 6 eine Schlussbetrachtung durchgefhrt.
