Sie erregte vom ersten Moment an, als die ffentlichkeit sie kennen lernte, Aufmerksamkeit. Seitdem haben sich Leser, Kritiker und Literaturwissenschaftler mit ihrer Sprache, ihrer Aussage und dem, was sie wohl ber Goethes Gottesbild zu sagen hat, beschftigt. Vor allem der erste dieser drei Punkte steht in dieser Arbeit im Fokus : die Sprache, in die Goethe seinen Prometheus kleidet. Es steht allerdings nicht der literaturwissenschaftliche Fokus im Mittelpunkt dieser Arbeit. Vielmehr ist diese Arbeit eine Annherung an die Hymne mithilfe sprachwissenschaftlicher Fragestellungen. Auch der Frage nach einem mglichen Zusammenhang von sprachlicher Form und Sinn des Textes wird nachgegangen.
