In 2003, Anne JuolaRushton traveled along the pathyway, perception, and dimensions in the world of elementary highstakes testing. Using the qualitative methodology known as portraiture, JuolaRushton joins science and art through the genre of inquiry. Portraiture shares some features with other qualitative research methods, and this book places portraiture within this larger field of inquiry. It was within the rawness and vulnerability of the study participants that she sought to record and interpret the experiences and perceptions of these third grade students, documenting their voices and visions navigating their wisdom and authority on highstakes testing. In the pages of this book, JuolaRushton illuminates the relationship between herself, the portraitist and the subjects, the third grade students.
