Product Description An illustrated history of Oklanoma County, Oklanoma, paired with histories of the local companies. About the Author Pendleton Woods, author of HISTORIC OKLAHOMA COUNTY, is a native of Arkansas and graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas. He has lived in Oklahoma City since 1948. His involvement in history began in 1969 when he inaugurated a state oral history program at Oklahoma Christian University. The program is now the oral history division of the Oklahoma Historical Society. He is author or coauthor of six books dealing with Oklahoma history or biographies, and has been inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame.He is one of the founders and past president of the Oklahoma City/County Historical Society. He is also past president of the Oklahoma Genealogical Society and is former sheriff (president) of the Oklahoma Westerners posse, a Western history organization.
