Book Description Publication Date: September 1, 2009 Series: Historical Atlas This is a fascinating exploration of the most influential collection of writings in Western history. By placing the events and people described in the Bible into their social and geographical context, it seeks to provide new insights into the scriptures and illuminate a truly significant period in the development of Western civilization. The authoritative, engrossing text is accompanied throughout with quotes from the Bible, showing the link between the historical events described and the scriptures. There are 100 beautifully detailed maps illustrating the movements of the people and the development of nations, and there are over 100 color photographs and illustrations of archaeological sites and artifacts.

The atlas is visually appealing, and I like the timeframe it covers from 500 BC to AD 600. However, I found some sections a bit lacking in depth. It's good for a general overview but not for serious academic use. Still, a nice addition to my bookshelf!

Arrived Damaged, Not Happy
I was excited about the atlas, but it arrived with a few bent corners, which was disappointing. I could tell it had been through some rough handling in transit. The content seems interesting, but I can't fully enjoy it with the damage. I hope the next one is better!
