Die Geschichtswissenschaften dienten also der stndigen historischen Korrelation, in der es darum geht, durch das FrageAntwortModell, die eigene gegenwrtige Existenz im Lichte des Vergangenen neu zu interpretieren und Aussicht fr die Zukunft zu verschaffen. Die Geschichtswissenschaften sind auf diesem Wege nicht allein. Die angedeutete Problemstellung betraf nicht nur politische Ereignisse, die wir aus Handbchern kennen, sondern auch, wenn nicht vor allem, den Menschen an sich als die Antriebskraft aller sozialen, politischen und konomischen Gegebenheiten, wie etwa die Gesellschaft, der Staat und die Wirtschaft. In den Vordergrund hat sich jedoch die berzeugung gedrngt, da der Mensch ein handelndes Subjekt aller nderungen ist, trotzdem weist er konstituierende invariable und zu seiner Natur gehrende Eigenschaften auf. All das versucht die Anthropologie zu hinterfragen und systematisch strukturierte Schlufolgerungen zu ziehen. Die Hausarbeit ist in drei Hauptteile aufgegliedert. Als erstes wird der Begriff der historischen Anthropologie und seine Bezge zu den anderen Anthropologien genau erklrt. Im zweiten Teil wird der Inhalt des Possessing Albany vorgestellt, wobei auch andere verffentlichte Publikationen der Autorin bercksichtigt werden. Die Geschichte der kolonialen Provinz Albany in der Periode 16401710 und die stndig ausbrechenden Konflikte zwischen Hollndern und Englndern werden hier nicht nur inhaltlich, sondern auch in einem breite
