The climax and conclusion of one of the bestselling biographies of our time. The New Yorker declared the first volume of Ian Kershaws twovolume masterpiece as close to definitive as anything we are likely to see, and that promise is fulfilled in this stunning second volume. As Nemesis opens, Adolf Hitler has achieved absolute power within Germany and triumphed in his first challenge to the European powers. Idolized by large segments of the population and firmly supported by the Nazi regime, Hitler is poised to subjugate Europe. Nine years later, his vaunted war machine destroyed, Allied forces sweeping across Germany, Hitler will end his life with a pistol shot to his head. [M]ore probing, more judicious, more authoritative in its rich detail...more commanding in its mastery of the horrific narrative.Milton J. Rosenberg, Chicago Tribune 48 pages of black and white illustrations

I was excited to read this book, but it didn't quite meet my expectations. I felt some sections were rushed and didn’t delve deeply enough into certain events. It's still informative, just not as comprehensive as I was hoping for.

An essential historical resource
I bought 'Hitler 1936-1945: Nemesis' for my college course on World War II, and it has been invaluable. The research is thorough, and the insights into his decisions during this period are eye-opening. Highly recommend for anyone studying this era!

Informative but heavy material
While the content is incredibly informative about Hitler’s later years, I found some parts quite dense. The author did an excellent job presenting facts, but it took me a while to get through it. Not exactly light reading, but worth it for history buffs.
