HMS Belfast, originally a Royal Navy light cruiser, is now permanently moored on the Thames in London. One of ten Townclass cruisers she saw service on the icy Arctic convoys during World War II, at the bombardment of the DDay beaches in 1944, and during the Korean War. This well illustrated guide provides reference for ship modelers, naval buffs, historians and students. Containing 200 specially commissioned photographs, it takes the reader on a superbly illustrated tour of the ship, from bow to stern and deck by deck. Significant parts of the vesselfor example, the gun turrets and engine roomsare given detailed coverage both in words and pictures, so that the reader has the most complete visual record and explanation of the ship that exists.
