Este libro de Francesca Randazzo es un importante aporte al estudio de la nacin en Honduras. Francesca saca, a la manera de un golpe, el tema nacional del continuum de la historia tradicional hondurea al analizar aspectos fundamentales de constelaciones olvidadas y reprimidas en dicha historia. Estas son interpretadas como estructuras de sentimiento que se expresan en formas estticas y poticas. La nacin de Francesca no es una esencia, algo acabado encarnado por el Estado y la institucionalidad dominante. La nacin oficial aparece como una relacin social y de poder, como un arriba que constituye una determinada legitimacin frente al abajo social. Pero, desde la perspectiva apuntada, este abajo social no ha dejado de desear y luchar por otra nacin. Y esas voces de la otra nacin imaginada son las que tienen un papel protagnico en esta aproximacin crtica. La visin novedosa que la autora presenta en este ensayo con toda seguridad causar asombro y polmica.
