How God Created the World is a children's picture book that shares the biblical story of creation. Author Kim Ryan recounts the creation account found in the book of Genesis, and alongside her retelling, she includes scripture verses from other books of the Bible including Acts, Romans, Hebrews, Psalms, Isaiah, Proverbs, and more that correspond to the story as it unfolds. Themes of the added scripture verses include faith, Jesus as the light of the world, and God's omnipotence. This story highlights God the Father's creative power. God spoke the universe into existence in six days, and on the seventh day, God rested. This thoughtful retelling of God's creation of heaven and earth, which begins with Jesus's (God's Son's) presence at the creation event, will become a favorite bedtime story, while the artistic, colorful images will draw children back to this book time and again.
