In this vibrant portrait of Edwardian England and the many intricacies of class relations in English society during the turn of the century, two families with conflicting values are brought together by an inheritance dispute over a charming country house called Howards End. Sisters Margaret and Helen Schlegel and their brother Tibby place their values in civilized culture, music, literature, and conversation with their friends. Henry Wilcox and his children, Charles, Paul, and Evie, are concerned with the business side of life and distrust emotions and imagination. Through a series of romantic entanglements, disappearing wills, and sudden tragedy, the conflict over the house emerges as a symbolic struggle for Englands very future.
Regarded by many as Forsters masterpiece, Howards End concerns the nature of class and social status and how they affect ones relationships and well-being--for better or for worse.

I was excited to get 'Howards End', but the new condition wasn't what I expected. The spine was slightly bent, and there were a few marks on the pages. Might have just been a one-time issue, but I was let down.

Nice book, but came late
I ordered 'Howards End', and while the book itself is in great shape, it arrived a week later than expected. The new condition is spot on, but the delay was a bit annoying. Just plan ahead if you're buying it as a gift!

Great addition to my collection
I got 'Howards End' in new condition and it looks fantastic on my shelf! The pages are crisp and the cover is beautiful. If you love classic literature, this edition is a must-have. Definitely worth the price!
