In the past few decades the distribution system(DS) is facing lots of problems like high losses, low voltages and poor reliability. In this context Distribution Generation(DG) turns out to be reliable in eliminating the problems of DS. Determining the location and capacity of DG is important. Studies have indicated that improper location and size of DG may leads to higher system losses. The book starts with a load flow solution to determine losses. A new hybrid method is proposed in the book which uses Fuzzy to determine candidate locations to place DG for minimum losses and high voltage improvement and then ABC algorithm to determine proper capacity of DG units at these locations for minimum losses. The effect of DG placement on DS reliability is also examined. This book is useful for professionals in power utilities ,research scholars and students of advanced courses in power systems.
