MarieClaire est un roman de Marguerite Audoux publi en 1910 aux ditions Fasquelle et qui a reu la mme anne le prix Femina, ce qui lui a interdit de recevoir le Prix Goncourt, dcern une semaine plus tard, malgr le soutien d'Octave Mirbeau, auteur de la prface. C'est la premire uvre de son auteur et ce titre la plus autobiographique. Le roman s'est vendu son poque plus de 100 000 exemplaires Rsum : MarieClaire voque l'enfance et l'adolescence de l'auteur. La premire partie relate la mort de la mre, le dpart du pre et les neuf annes passes l'orphelinat, l'Hpital gnral de Bourges, priode difficile, claire cependant par la prsence tutlaire de sur MarieAime. La deuxime partie se situe la ferme de Villevieille, o les premiers patrons de MarieClaire, Matre Sylvain et Pauline, entourent la petite bergre d'une affection bienveillante. Dans la troisime partie, la jeune fille s'prend d'Henri Deslois, le frre de la fermire qui a succd Pauline. La mre du jeune homme interdit MarieClaire de revoir Henri. Celleci retourne alors au couvent, o elle revoit sur MarieAime avant de partir pour Paris
